Crowds looking for a miracle cure for wrinkles are lining up for the latest anti-aging cream.
More than 94,000 people have placed themselves on a waiting list for an anti-aging no. 7 Series, and scores of people queued for up to two hours outside Boots stores on Wednesday.
The question of the no. 7 Future Renew Damage Reversal rose sharply after impressive results of its ability to repair sun-damaged skin were presented at a meeting of the British Society for Investigative Dermatology last month.
Developed over 15 years in collaboration with the University of Manchester, the cream has been shown in clinical studies to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and improve skin firmness.
The call for the so-called botox in a jar recalls the company’s Protect & Perfect serum, which was featured on the BBC program Horizon in 2007.

The science fair noted that it was the only product that justified its price and resulted in five months’ worth of stock being sold at Boots in one day.
No 7 Future Renew products, including a day cream, night cream and eye serum, cost from £24.95.
Richard Bowden of no. 7 said: “Future Renew is our biggest launch ever and we are delighted with the response.”
The cream uses two artificial peptides – versions of protein fragments in the skin that initiate repair.
Tests indicate that the peptides regenerate the protein layer that makes the skin resilient.
