Now Jeremy Clarkson Reveals He Gets Miracle Fat-Burning Injection: Ex-Top Gear Icon Joins Elon Musk To Take ‘Big’ Ozempic

Jeremy Clarkson has revealed he is now taking a ‘magical’ fat-burning drug to lose weight and prevent type 2 diabetes.

The former Top Gear presenter, 62, claimed Ozempic was already having a “huge” impact.

Given as an injection once a week, the drug dramatically suppresses appetite and helps people fight the lump by eating less food.

Clarkson, who has tried to lose weight through a healthier diet and exercise in the past, describes the effects as “really amazing.”

In his latest column in The Sunday Times, the Grand Tour presenter said: “I can open the fridge where there’s half a chicken and a juicy bottle of rose wine and I don’t want to either.

“Of course I have to keep some balance in the future, otherwise I’ll die. But now it’s great.’

What is Ozempic?

The rich and famous are turning to the diabetes drug Ozempic as a fast-acting weight loss solution.

The drug with the active ingredient semaglutide is produced by the Danish pharmaceutical giant Novo Nordisk.

It is injected into the stomach, thigh or arm to regulate a person’s blood sugar levels.

Semaglutide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) drug that mimics the effects of the hormone produced naturally in a person’s stomach and pancreas.

These hormones signal the brain not to eat. It reduces a person’s appetite and reduces food cravings.

It also delays gastric emptying and increases the amount of insulin released by the pancreas.

However, studies have shown that Ozempic can cause some serious side effects, including mild or moderate nausea, heartburn, cramps and diarrhea, as well as constipation.

However, researchers say these are short-lived and resolve on their own.

The drug is approved for the treatment of type 2 diabetes by both the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) in the UK and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the US, so it can be used off-label a weight loss supplement.

It is still very popular among celebrity nutritionists, who report an increase in requests from their wealthy clients.

However, demand for the drug has reached such levels that both British and American type 2 diabetics who need it for treatment have experienced shortages in recent months.

He added: “I never knew what Kate Moss was talking about when she said nothing tastes like skinny, but I think I will soon with my new wonder drug.”

Rumor has it that Hollywood actresses use the injections to stay as thin as possible.

Even tech mogul Elon Musk has credited the drug for his recent weight loss.

Experts say its phenomenal success has caused supplies to run out around the world.

Branded as Ozempic or Wegovy, Semaglutide was considered a major breakthrough when it hit the market.

One study showed that patients receiving the treatment lost an average of nearly five pounds (2.5 kg) in just over a year, while those receiving a placebo lost 6 pounds.

This led to NHS watchdogs last February approving weekly vaccination for overweight patients with a weight-related disease such as type 2 diabetes or a high risk of heart attack, as weight loss can help protect against these problems.

Type 2 diabetes occurs when the body does not produce enough insulin or the insulin it does produce does not work properly, leading to high blood sugar levels.

Uncontrolled diabetes can lead to blindness and cause patients to have their limbs amputated or fall into a coma.

It affects around 4.5 million people in the UK and 37 million in the US.

The drug is available to treat obesity in a private setting for just under £200 a month.

Mr Clarkson, who had to apologize for a controversial column about Meghan Markle in The Sun last month, revealed he paid £140 for the first prescription.

He said he was introduced to the injectable drug after learning his friends were using “a new Danish drug called Ozempic” to ward off diabetes and “when asked, they all believed it”.

The medication is administered via an easy-to-use self-injection pen. NICE, the NHS’ drug regulator, says semaglutide – the drug’s active ingredient – can be offered to patients for up to two years.

Semaglutide works by mimicking glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1), a hormone released after eating.

This signals the body to release insulin, which helps move digested sugar from the blood into cells where it can be used for energy.

This leads to a feeling of satiety. Patients using the drug report being disgusted with their own favorite foods – including coffee, chocolate and fried chicken.

It also delays gastric emptying and increases the amount of insulin released by the pancreas.
