The sorcerer fans were pretty upset Henry Cavill leave the series and be replaced by Liam Hemsworth for season 4. The creative team has been trying to keep fans excited for the future, but from my point of view, their attempts to make the future of the series exciting just don’t seem to be working.
The last time we will see Cavill as the monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, will be in the upcoming third season and the creator and showrunner of the series Lauren Hissrich says it feels like “the most heroic farewell” for Henry Cavill. During a recent interview with EW he said:
“Henry has given so much to the show and so we want to honor that properly. What’s so interesting is that season 3, to me, is the closest thing we’ve come to as a one-to-one adaptation of the books.”Obviously, we can’t make every page, but Time of Contempt has given us so many big action events, plot points, defining character moments, huge reveals of a big bad. There’s so much to do that we’ve managed to stay really, really close to the books.”
This comment comes after Cavill left the series due to frustrations with his vision of the story clashing with the showrunner’s vision. Cavill always fought for the series to stick more to the source material because he was a huge fan of the story the books told. Well, it looks like he got what he wanted with season 3, we’ll just have to wait and see.
When asked if there’s a role, on screen or behind the scenes, that could keep Cavill going in the Witcher verse, Hissrich responded by saying, “We haven’t even thought about it at this point.” He went on to say:
“We plan to continue this way in various permutations. I love mothership, I plan to stick with it, but of course we have Blood Origin coming out. I hope this doesn’t end for a while. So I think the possibilities are endless and we’ll see what happens. it will happen”.
After watching the third season of The sorcerer Will you return for Season 4 with Hemsworth replacing Cavill? Will you give him a chance? Will you watch out of curiosity?
