About a year ago “Hawkeye” premiered on Disney+, the Marvel Studios series that marked the first Marvel Cinematic Universe project starring Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) and the debut of the young and energetic archer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld). Together they embarked on a comic adventure in which, in the midst of all the action, there was time to celebrate Christmas, a holiday during which the series takes place. For this Christmas spirit that reigns in ‘Hawkeye’ Marvel is taking the opportunity to postulate the series as a must for these dates, to which its fans respond by asking for a second season.

Marvel Studios has not commented on a possible second chapter, but an event that took place at the Emmy Awards filled her fans with hope. Disney submitted ‘Hawkeye’ to these awards in the ‘Best Comedy Series’ category, but they announced early on that they would be nominating it for ‘Best Limited Series’, which as the term ‘limited’ indicates, this category is meant to series that have and will only have one season. Eventually Disney changed their mind and didn’t present it as a limited series, thus keeping alive the possibility of seeing a new story.

While it’s still a mystery whether Kevin Feige plans to release another season, the hypothetical second episode could focus more on Kate than Clint. The end of “Hawkeye” shows us how the veteran avenger, after an adventure that made him very crazy, can finally rest and enjoy Christmas with his family. No doubt the archer will want peace for a while, but the same cannot be said for Kate, whose great passion for action and enthusiastic spirit are sure to get her into trouble.
In the comics, Clint and Kate have had multiple adventures together, both as a team and separately, so we’ll see in the future what Marvel Studios decides to adapt from the cartoons. Plot issues aside, both the young archer and the actress who brings him to life, Hailee Steinfeld, have been two of the most beloved aspects of Phase 4 of the MCU, so it would not be strange that the Marvel offices want to give weight and prominence to the franchise. Whatever happens in the end, it’s clear that Kate Bishop came through the front door, stomping hard and intending to stick around for a long time.
