The Luther film based on the BBC series of the same name starring Idris Elba finally has a name, a date and some new photos. Netflix UK’s Twitter has released a new post revealing the name of the film Luther: The fallen sun.
The film will follow the story of Detective Chief Inspector John Luther, who is imprisoned after nearly solving a case in a series of serial computer murders. The film picks up where the five-season British series left off. Plagued by his inability to catch the real villain, Luther feels compelled to make tough choices behind bars.
The film will welcome back DSU character Martin Schenk, played by the actor Dermot Crowley. Newcomers to the cast include Cynthia Erivo (Bad times at the El Royale, Harriet) and Andy Serkis (The Lord of the Rings, Planet of the Apes).
Check out the new photos and post from Netflix UK and get ready to watch Luther: The fallen sun on Netflix this March.
