The second installment of ‘Enola Holmes 2’ was released last October and in it we see the character of Millie Bobby Brown falling in love with Tewkesbury played by Louis Partridge. In a behind-the-scenes video Netflix shared on TikTok, the ‘Stranger Things’ actress explains that during rehearsals she grabbed her partner’s face and unexpectedly planted a kiss: “It was so cute. Seeing her take the lead and generally seeing a girl make the first move is also really exciting.

In addition to giving her an unexpected kiss, without warning and without consent, Brown also says that instead of acting, that same scene took her too far: “When we actually had the kiss scene, I had to hit him, and because Louis is a good friend, he wouldn’t stop hitting him. I wasn’t pretending, I was really hurting her, and finally she said, “Millie, can you pretend to hit me?” I was hitting him full in the stomach. It’s a very cute scene that I think the fans are going to love.”.
Ears pull
Although Bobby Brown tells it with a laugh, the one who was not so amused was Jessica Steinrock, privacy coordinator, who explained why it is an issue on her TikTok account: “I love Millie Bobby Brown, but this isn’t the funny story she thinks it is. I’m sure she and her scene partner were very confident, but we should never surprise anyone during any fight or intimacy scenes. Ever. Ultimately, this means he didn’t have her consent to kiss him, and when your partner kisses back with surprise, it means the necessary communication didn’t exist. It’s the little things like these that end up being important over time. And to be honest, she has more power in that situation than he does because she’s a famous star. When we do bold scenes we love to make things funny, but consent is always required. For the record, I love ‘Enola Holmes 2’, but for the next one: you have to ask for consent.”

In the comments, one of his followers tells him he’s sure the kiss was already in the script, and that Partridge would just be surprised if he went first, not that the kiss itself wasn’t planned. Steinrock replies: “My job is to make sure there are no surprises. I trust the actors are good enough to fake surprises.” ‘Enola Holmes’ and ‘Enola Holmes 2’ are available on Netflix.
