James Gunn has had enough. Current co-head of DC Studios with Peter Safran is back on Twitter tired of all the hate he is receiving on social networks and to address some of the speculation that users and journalists are releasing about Elon Musk’s platform. Since both took office, things have changed dramatically in the DC Universe and neither Henry Cavill will be Superman nor will we see Patty Jenkins’ ‘Wonder Woman 3’, but we know nothing of what will happen in the future of the franchise, so the fandom is been a little nervous.
Our picks for the DCU are based on what we believe is best for the story and best for the DC characters who have been around for nearly 85 years. Maybe these choices are great, maybe not, but they are made with true heart and integrity and always with the story in mind.

“One of the things Peter and I were aware of when we took the job as heads of DC Studios was that a certain minority of people online could be, shall we say, loud and rude to put it mildly.
Our decisions about the DC Universe are based on what we believe is best for the DC story and characters that have been around for nearly 85 years. Maybe those decisions are great, maybe not, but they’re made with heart, with integrity, and always with the story in mind.”
We were aware that there would be a time of turmoil as we accepted this gig, and we knew that sometimes we would have to make difficult and not-so-obvious choices, especially in the wake of the fractious nature of what has gone before.

But that means little to us compared to our work as artists and caretakers in helping create a vast and wonderful future for DC.

“No one likes to be harassed or insulted, but to be honest, We’ve been through much worse. disrespectful complaints will never affect our actions.
We were aware that there would be a period of turbulence when we accepted this job and we knew that we would have to make difficult and confusing decisions, especially given the conflicted nature of what has gone before.
But that means little to us compared to our work as artists and managers to help create a great and grand future for DC.”
ambiguity
Perhaps one of the most controversial issues in this whole DC mess is Gal Gadot’s future as Wonder Woman, which with Jenkins out of the franchise it’s unclear whether or not Gadot fits into Gunn/Safran’s plans. In an Instagram conversation, one follower wrote to Gunn: “I can’t wait to see what you’re cooking up. That said, firing Cavill and Gadot (especially when they’ve already announced their return) doesn’t inspire confidence.”; to which the director replies: i>”I don’t know where you understood that we “fired” Gadot”.

This terse answer has two interpretations: o Gadot continues to work with DC even if it is not on “Wonder Woman 3”, but on other projects; o Gadot left DC of her own free will after Jenkins. In any case, we will continue to wait for official news from DC or Warner Bros. or new tweets from Gunn that deny the rumors.
