James Cameron (‘Titanic, ‘Avatar’) has just released ‘Avatar: The Sense of Water’, a sequel to the first successful chapter that holds the title of the highest-grossing film in history. “Avatar”, directed and written by Cameron, was very close to having Matt Damon in the lead, but due to scheduling problems the actor had to turn down the role of Jake Sully, which eventually fell into the hands of Sam Worthington.

In the 13 years since Damon lost his chance to star in ‘Avatar,’ the actor has recalled on more than one occasion that he regrets his decision. In an interview for BBC Radio 1, Cameron, who is aware of Damon’s constant complaints, was asked if he had spoken to the actor, to which the director replied that he would immediately get over the choice of him: “Matt, you know, you’re like one of the biggest movie stars in the world. Forget it.” The interviewer goes on to ask if one day we might see a cameo from Damon in an ‘Avatar’ movie: “We have to do this, we have to do this so that the world is balanced again. But he won’t take 10% (of the movie) for that” Cameron says.
Matt Damon explained this a few years ago Cameron offered him 10% of the box office of ‘Avatar’ if he starred in itbut the actor turned down the offer due to his commitment to the Bourne saga, action films, spies and suspense which he has been directing since 2002. “Avatar: The Sense of Water”, played by Sam Worthington and not Matt Damon, as much as it hurts himis available in cinemas.
Worthington also has her own history of failed castings for a major role, and she went to another famous spy (most famous, wow). We already knew that the British-born Australian actor was one of the candidates to play James Bond, but now Worthington has revealed which film he was for: ‘Casino Royale’. The role, as everyone knows, went to Daniel Craig, but Worthington quickly reconciled to the decision. She told Variety, where confesses that his test for the 007 saga was a disaster: “I could play Bond as a murderer, but there was no way to capture his elegance. The suit didn’t fit me and I had no idea what I was doing”. Just a few years later, he would become Jake Sully.
Kate Winslet also has a message for another actor
Kate Winslet, who plays Ronal in “Avatar 2,” revealed in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in August that he held his breath underwater for 7 minutes and 14 seconds to shoot an underwater scene for the film. That means Winslet broke the record for longest time an actor or actress can stay underwater, a feat held by Tom Cruise with six minutes on the set of ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ . In an interview with USA Today, the actress joked about how Cruise would take being dethroned: “Poor Tom. I mean, I don’t know Tom at all, I’ve never met him in my life, but I’m sure he’s getting tired of hearing this story about how I broke his record. Either way, I loved it. I was amazed at how good she was and she kept getting better.”
