Strange world is coming to Disney+ on December 23rd. After a less than stellar run at the box office, the film will soon be available to those who have simply been waiting for it to be available to stream. The film is about a legendary family of explorers as they attempt to navigate an uncharted and treacherous land alongside a motley crew of a blob called Splat, the family dog, and a slew of ravenous creatures.
Hero Jake Gyllenhaal, Dennis Quaid, Jaboukie Young-White, Gabriella Unionand Lucy Liu it’s disappointing that it didn’t do very well in theaters. Those who went to see it seemed to like it, so I think there were probably many other factors that contributed to the bombing. Regardless, I’m one of those who didn’t go to the theater to watch it, so I’m excited to be able to stream it soon.
Gyllenhaal plays Seeker Clade, the son of a stalwart explorer. The Clades are a legendary family of explorers and “attempt to navigate an uncharted and treacherous land alongside a motley crew that includes a mischievous blob, a three-legged dog, and a slew of ravenous creatures.” Fantastic creatures await this crew “whose differences threaten to derail their latest and by far their most crucial mission.”
