Netflix fires Henry Cavill from ‘The Witcher’ for ‘toxic’ to women according to rumors – Netflix (Courtesy)
Henry Cavill’s departure from ‘The Witcher’ took all fans of the show by surprise. And it is that in the same week in which it seemed that he was returning as Superman, and would be able to have the two of the most important characters of him at the same time, everything collapsed. Now, a strong voice assures that Netflix would not have fired him for agenda issues or creative differences, but for toxic.
On the Deux U podcast, they say it Netflix fired Henry Cavill from ‘The sorcerer’ for toxic, despite the fact that the streaming platform said in its statement that everything had gone well for both parties. The Superman actor also broke the news on his social media, where he confirmed that Liam Hemsworth would be the one to replace him as Geralt de Rivia.
The FandomWire site was in charge of replicating the file allegations against Henry Cavill for ‘The sorcerer’, but it’s worth mentioning that there is no reliable source that can confirm the following. They say, during the first season of the Netflix series, Cavill behaved unexpectedly, because he allegedly wanted to control every aspect of the show and even requested last-minute changes.
In the site statement, they mention it Henry Cavill was “toxic” towards women, mainly ‘The Witcher’ showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich: “It became really impossible for women to work with him, which is always a huge problem. But even worse here, because the showrunner is a woman. She would try to overturn her decisions and try to make last minute changes down the line without her knowing,” she wrote.

Henry Cavil accused of inappropriate conduct in ‘The Witcher’
The text points out that Henry Cavill did not commit any kind of sexual harassment, however, he behaved inappropriately with women on the show: “Suddenly, the writers and directors were completely ignored on set, unable to do their job. All the department heads were complaining. He started making comments. It wasn’t sexual: I wasn’t touching anyone, I wasn’t obscene, but it was still disrespectful and toxic.”
Presumably, Netflix would have become aware of the actor’s behavior, with which it would have approached to warn him that he could not let his attitude pass on the recording set. To which Cavill allegedly ignored, and as such, he was finally fired and removed for subsequent seasons of ‘The Witcher’. Again, there is no source that corroborates the above, so this all has to be taken with a grain of salt.
Ultimately, all of these are rumors, and it’s possible they’re false, because so far none of the productions Cavill has worked on have mentioned the actor’s disrespectful behavior, so we’ll have to wait for more details and where this anonymous information comes from.
