Blumhouse is actually making a big splash in its film adaptation of the hit video game Five Nights at Freddy’s. They’ve been working on this movie for years and they’ve finally cast its two main stars! Matthew Lillard (Yell, SLC Punk) And Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games) joined the project and I couldn’t be happier with the casting! Lillard in particular is one of my all time favorites!
The film is based on the game franchise created by Scott Cathon, which follows “a night security guard as he starts work at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. As she spends her first night on the job, she realizes the concert won’t be so easy as the animatronic animals that entertain the children during the day play their sinister games at night.
The film will be directed by Emma Tammi (The wind, Red Moon) and previously shared a statement: “To step into the rich and terrifying world of Freddy’s alongside Scott Cawthon, Blumhouse and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop is beyond thrilling. I can’t wait for audiences to immerse themselves in the wild and wonderful playground we’re creating.”
It was previously revealed that Jim Henson’s Creature Shop will be working with Blumhouse to bring the game’s animatronic creatures to life, which is exciting!
Jason BlumBlumhouse CEO and Founder said, “Five Nights at Freddy’s is more frequently asked questions than any film I’ve ever worked on, and I’m thrilled to confirm it’s finally happening! With Emma Tammi at the helm, we are committed to realizing Scott’s vision for the film. Rest assured, it will be and worth the wait.
What do you think of Lillard and Hutcherson’s cast in the film?
