I am extremely excited about the launch of Capcom Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection next year! I dabbled a bit in the Battle Network games in the past but have really wanted to try again lately but they demand a decent price on the used market. Now I will be able to play all 10 major titles on modern hardware. A new collection trailer showcases many of the features players will be able to try out, such as ranked online play, play online with friends, trade online, and more! I am extremely excited!
The story of Mega Man Battle Network takes place in the near-future interconnected world of Net Society, which depends on computer programs known as Network Navigators (or NetNavis for short) to manage everything from their toasters to city power grids. While the network age brings all sorts of conveniences, it has also brought in a wave of cybercrime that is eroding all levels of society. In these games, players take on the role of Lan Hikari using their PErsonal Terminal (or PET) and her NetNavi, MegaMan.EXE, to take on the culprits behind these cybercrimes. Players control MegaMan.EXE as he explores the web, engages in grid-based combat, and uses Battle Chips to gain devastating abilities that can eliminate even the most sinister viruses.
Some additional features for the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection includes an optional high-resolution filter, over 1,000 MegaMan artwork, 188 songs, and an interactive 3D MegaMan.EXE PET on the launcher screen. Also, to celebrate the launch, the first two seasons of MegaMan NT Warrior will be re-released for free in early 2023. These seasons will be available to watch on Capcom’s Twitch USA channel and Mega Man’s YouTube channel.
You can pre-order the Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection now in one bundle for $59.99, or you can get the digital versions of volumes 1 and 2 separately for $39.99 each. If you pre-order the pack, you’ll get two additional skins for MegaMan.EXE PET in the launch screen and four new special arrangements of original music from the series in the music player. Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection will launch on April 14, 2023 for Nintendo Switch, PC (Steam), and PS4.
