In 2018, nine women reported two teachers at the Aula de Teatro de Lleida for having been sexually abused between 2001 and 2008, when they were students at the school. They were willing to relive their worst memories to seek justice, but too much time had passed and the case had been dropped. Isabel Coixet gives them a voice in the documentary ‘El techo amarillo’, which hits theaters on December 16. We offer you an exclusive preview with the testimony of one of the victims:

The idea for the documentary was born following a report that the director read in the ARA newspaper and tries to explain Why victims of sexual harassment and abuse can take so long to report their abusersif they do, and why they decide to do it when “they should have moved on by now”.

“What happened there for 20 years was not right”

The event that ‘El techo amarillo’ focuses on focuses on this group of women who were victims of Antonio Gómez, director of the Aula de Teatro, when they were teenagers. “What he said was done. Over the years… what has been done has not been right. We did, but it wasn’t right” says Goretti Narcis, one of the complainants. Her case was one of many, as she herself recounts: “What happened there for 20 years was not right”.
