Last year Dwayne Johnson talked about the ‘Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw’ sequel as something in the near future, a continuation for which he hinted at his character’s demise promising a movie that would involve a “the antithesis of what “Fast & Furious” movies generally are.meaning they go on and on and on”.

The thing is, this actor’s agenda has since gotten pretty complicated, so this new installment spearheaded by Johnson and Jason Statham it no longer appears to be on the table.
The producer of said spin-off, Kelly McCormick, wanted to reveal where they are with respect to said film, emphasizing that the team would be willing to return, but that the decision would be entirely in Johnson’s hands. “With ‘Hobbs & Shaw’ we introduced a lot of characters but with the idea of trying to create a solid spin-off that includes Kevin Hart, Ryan Reynolds and all that kind of stuff”comments McCormick in statements to ComicBook.
“And that was intentional. but not necessarily because we had further plans in mind, but because we thought it would be fun to have different elements to play with in case anyone or we want to continue differently. Dwayne is a very busy guy and you know, he would be tasked with promoting a continuation. We’re ready if he wants to, and until then, he’s riding high, so we want him to continue to be successful.”.
