Actress Helen Slayton-Hughes, Ethel in ‘Parks and Recreation’, dies at 92

Actress Helen Slayton-Hughes has died at the age of 92. best known for playing stenographer Ethel Beavers on the sitcom ‘Parks and Recreation’. Her family did not disclose her cause, but she did announce it on Facebook with the following message: “Helen passed away last night. Her grief is over, but her fierce spirit is fierce. Thank you for the love and support of her and her work. Rest up honey. -Love: The Hughes family”.

Born in 1930 and having begun her career as an actress on the stage, Slayton-Hughes first appeared in film in the 1980s with the comedy ‘Mafia on the Bounty’ and drama ‘After Love’ and on television in the TV Movie ‘ The Princess and the Taxi Driver’. In these forty years in front of the cameras, he had small and episodic roles in series such as ‘Malcolm’, ‘The West Wing of the White House’, ‘Judge Amy’, ‘Carnivàle’, ‘Raven’, ‘Arrested Development’, ‘My name is Earl’, ‘Desperate Housewives’, ‘Pretty Little Liars’, ‘Hope’, ‘True Blood’, ‘Parenthood’, ‘ New Girl’ or ‘The Middle’.
