Antony Starr is nominated at the Critics Choice Awards for ‘The Boys’

The Amazon Prime Video series is no stranger to awards, as it already has several statuettes from some of the biggest awards in the world of television. Now, the Critics Choice Awards have revealed their full list of nominees at the 28th annual awards, where ‘The Boys’ Antony Starr earned a nomination for his work as Homelander.

The list of nominees of the Critics Choice Association was posted on social networks, where Antony Starr was nominated for Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series, thanks to his impressive and increasingly insane role of Homelander, for the third season of ‘The Boys’. To the surprise of many, the superhero series is once again considered one of the most prestigious awards in television.

The Amazon Prime Video series account celebrated Antony Starr Critics Choice Awards Nomination featuring an image of Homelander, one of the most feared and evil villains ever seen in superhero films. And also, one of the few actors who brought to life the enemy of the protagonist, who were recognized, such as Joaquin Phoenix and Heath Ledger for the Joker.

There is no doubt that the work of Antony Starr as Homelander in ‘The boysdeserves recognition, since superhero cinema has historically been underrated by the big industry awards, so seeing it compete against such heavyweights as Jeff Bridges of ‘The Old Man’, Sterling K. Brown of ‘This is Us’, Diego Luna of “Andor” and Adam Scott of “Severance” is already an achievement.

‘The Boys’ and the nominees for the Critics Choice Awards

Besides ‘The Boys’, other highlights in the Critics Choice Awards nominees list include ‘The Crown’ for Best Drama Series, ‘Prey’ for Best Television Film and Best Actress in a Television Movie for Amber. ‘House of the Dragon’, ‘1899’, ‘Dahmer’, among other TV productions that have managed to sneak into the list.

It should be remembered that the nominees in the film categories for the Critics Choice Awards will be announced on December 14, while the winners will be revealed during the live event to be held at the Faimount Century Plaza in Los Angeles on January 15, 2023.

Currently ‘The Boys’ is recording its fourth season, which does not have a release date on Amazon Prime Video, but will arrive anytime in 2023. Like ‘Gen V’, which was recently released has released its premiere trailer, and that it is a spin-off of the main series.
