The holidays are just around the corner and with them comes the mad rush to buy gifts. TheToyZone analyzed Google search volumes to track down which console is the most popular in each country. Four of the top five most searched toys are video game consoles, and of these the PS5 gets the most monthly searches on average.
In fact, the only non-console toy in the top 5 most searched is LEGO. It appears that the Nintendo Switch wins the popularity contest, still coming in as the most popular console in 69 countries. These infographics are always fun, but I have to wonder about the methodology. Given the difficulty people have had acquiring the PS5, I wonder how much research is being done by people simply looking to acquire the console.
It would be interesting to see the exact searches researched to see if they’ve sifted through people just looking to see if a game is on a particular console. Regardless, it’s still fun to see which countries have the most fun on which consoles.
