The first of the ‘1899’ series from the creators of ‘DARK’ It turned out to be a big hit just as expected and now that it’s finally available on Netflix, it’s already part of the top 10 most watched by the public, however its story has been as confusing as it is inexplicable, full of mysteries that will be solved until season 3 , as revealed by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar, the masterminds of this production.
In an interview for Indie wire, Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar, creators of ‘DARK’ and ‘1899’ They spoke about their expectations for the future of this new mystery series which since its debut on Netflix has managed to captivate audiences with its thrilling story of mystery, suspense and action, for which they hope the streaming platform will authorize them to bring two more seasons.
The creators of this new mystery series They explain that “The first season is about establishing a big theme, an important thing” while noting that at the moment there is no confirmation to continue the story: “We will see if there will be a second season, and then we will start playing with that theme and have a resolution ideally in season three,” they conclude.

This statement makes it clear that ‘1899’, just as ‘DARK’ wants to have a story divided into three parts, necessary to explain in detail the mystery involving the passengers of the ships Cerberos and Prometheus, although both make it clear that for the moment Netflix did not confirm whether the production will be “greenlit” for a second season.
The creators of ‘1899’ explain that the confusing story of this new mystery series tries to make the audience feel off balance without knowing what is happening to the passengers, then give a brief explanation of what could happen and then confuse the plot further: ” We hope to give you a satisfactory answer. At least at the end of the third season, but hopefully already during the first.”

Netflix has not clarified whether or not ‘1899’ will have a second season, much less a third, as the creators expect it to happen, however, both have defined the path the story will take if it happens, from the end it is clear in their minds and they hope they can bring it to the public the same way they did with ‘DARK’ Years ago.
“We always know the final point, the end of the journey, the greatest revelation of all,” Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar explain about the production of ‘1899’, for which they already have a clear ending, but for now there are there are several years left to be able to see it on the Netflix screen and for now we just have to wait for the announcement of a second season to become official.
