‘The Batman’ spin-off starring Colin Farrell would already have an official title for HBO Max

The universe of ‘The Batman’ will continue with its sequel whose development has not yet been confirmed, but in between will come ‘The Penguin’, the spin-off series for HBO Max starring Colin Farrell. Now the official title of the story that will bridge the Matt Reeves film and the sequel that will bring back Robert Pattinson would have been revealed.

According to the Illuminerdi, the series of ‘The Penguin’ bears as a working title “head”, Chief in Spanish, which would reveal that, after the fall of Falcone in ‘The Batman’, the new chief of criminals in Gotham City will be the character of Colin Farrell. It is worth mentioning that this coincides with some details leaked a few weeks ago, where it was said that the story would take place within days of what was seen in the Matt Reeves film.

The same outlet pointed out that ‘head’ would have dealt with the past of Colin Farrell’s character, by way of flashback, in which the tense relationship between Oswald Cobblepot and his mother Francis would have been seen. Furthermore, it is said that the HBO Max series would be looking for the actress who would give life to the mother of the villain, who will play an important role in the entire storyline.

It’s worth mentioning that, thus far, neither HBO Max nor Warner Bros. Discovery has claimed this to be true, however, that “Boss” is the working title for the series’The Penguin’ could only be processed for internal production purposesso the final name could be totally different and have more to do with the movie “The Batman” or its protagonist.

‘The Penguin’ and the aftermath in ‘The Batman 2’

Leaks and production details mention that ‘The Penguin’ will be “set right after the end of ‘The Batman’ and temporarily before the events of the second film.” When Gotham City is still flooded from the damage caused by the Riddler. However, it is unknown if Robert Pattinson will return as Bruce Wayne.

Deadline confirmed a few days ago that Cristin Milioti will be Sofia Falcone, daughter of Carmine, character of John Turturro in ‘The Batman’, and that she will be willing to take the place left by her father, and that she also wants Oswald Cobblepot to have control of Gotham City.

As of now, ‘The Penguin’ still doesn’t have a release date on HBO Max, but filming is expected to begin in 2023.
