Korean actor O Yeong-su accused of sexual misconduct against a woman in South Korea five years ago. The actor is best known for playing Oh Il-nam, the old man in Netflix’s ‘The Squid Game’, a role which earned him a Golden Globe.

According to Deadline, O was accused of inappropriately touching a woman’s body. The incident took place in 2017 and the alleged victim sued her at the end of 2021. In April of this year the case was closed but she filed an appeal and it was reopened.
The 78-year-old actor released a statement defending himself: “I just took her hand to guide her around the lake. I apologized because she said she wouldn’t make a fuss, but that doesn’t mean I admit the allegations.”. For his part, an official of the Suwon courts told the international press that “everything that the local media disseminate is not objectively correct”.
O Yeong-su is known worldwide since last year thanks to ‘The Squid Game’, which maintains the title of the most watched series on Netflix, but in South Korea he has been working for decades as an actor in film, television and above all theatre.
