BOOM! Studios recently announced a new comic book series for Power Rangers fans to look forward to. The new series is Ranger Academy and sadly, that’s pretty much all we know. It is written by Maria Ingrande Mora with art of Jo Mi Gyeong and is meant for all ages. The only other thing we know is that Ranger Academy will introduce new characters and include some familiar faces when it debuts Free Comic Book Day, May 6, 2023, in Ranger Academy FCBD 2023 special. The cover of the special will be by Miguel Mercado.
I have a theory that Ranger Academy will be somehow related to the highly anticipated 30th anniversary special that Hasbro is working on. We know that several original cast members are returning for this one included Johnny Yong Bosch, Karan Ashley, Steve Cardenas, Catherine Sutherland, Walter Emmanuel JonesAnd David Yost as well as a new cast member, Charlie Kersch, who will play the original Yellow Ranger, the daughter of Trini. We also know that Bosch and Ashley wore somewhat futuristic uniforms that resemble SPD uniforms and Bosch said the badges on the uniform say SPA. One theory is that SPA stands for Space Patrol Academy. This could be related Ranger Academy?
