After one of Sony’s most acclaimed films and one of the best Spider-Man stories, even without Peter Parker, ‘Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse’ is one of the most anticipated installments of the following year. Now a new image of the film has been revealed, while the directors confirm the rumor that it will have 6 completely different animation styles.

In a new Empire article, Sony has revealed a new image of ‘Spiderman: through the cry of the spider’, where you can see Gwen Stacy, who will be one of the protagonists of the story, along with Miles Morales and Miguel O’Hara, or better known as Spider-Man 2099, who will once again be voiced by actor Oscar Isaac.

In the same report, directors Phil Lord and Christopher Miller confirm that “Spiderman: Through the Spider-Verse’ will have six different animation styles: “The first film had an animation style that dominates the film. This film has six,” the producer commented. “So we take those tools, add everything we learned in ‘The Mitchells Vs The Machines,’ and then develop them further to fulfill the ambition of this film.”

Also, they mention it each of the styles ‘Spiderman: Through the Spider-Verse’ it means new worlds: “Which is surprising every time you enter a new environment, and it also involves making sure that the style of the film reflects the story and that the images are driven by feeling, as opposed to an intellectual art project. The animated styles of ‘Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse’

At this time, no details have been provided on each of the styles and universes that the Miles Morales sequel will have in theaters. The first style of ‘Spiderman: Across the Spider-Verse’ will be Mumbattan on Earth-50101, with animation inspired by Indian comics, the second will be New York from the timeline belonging to Miguel O’Hara, influenced by the art of Sid Mead.

The third style mentioned is Gwen Stacy’s Earth-65, which will be a “watercolor wash, reminiscent of her comic book covers,” Miller said. This animation will be like the new image revealed by the magazine. Therefore, with this, we can expect a tape with several multiversal adventures, complementing the more than 200 on-screen characters they would have promised.

‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ will be the first of two parts in which the story of Miles Morales will be divided, which will continue with ‘Beyond the Spider-Verse’. The former will be released in June 2023, while Sony’s second animated film will arrive in 2024, although it has no confirmed release date yet.
