The director will not come alone, he will come accompanied by Michael Starrbury, the new screenwriter who will replace Beau DeMayo. As reported by the American media themselves, the ‘True Detective’ actor personally participated in the choice of these two new signings. The idea is that the film will begin its production in 2023keeping its release date for the next September 6, 2024.

Tariq, who has already greeted the production with a friendly message on social media, wanted to congratulate Demange through his Instagram account: “The news is finally out, my dear brother Yann Mounir Demange will direct ‘Blade’! A real treat awaits you. Yann was instrumental in giving me the courage to start developing ‘Mogul Mowgli’. He also played an integral role in post-production, helping Riz, my editor Adam Biskupski and myself get the film through the finish line. During that time and throughout the pandemic, Yann has become a close friend and brother to me. I couldn’t be happier for him.”wrote the director in his publication.

What can we expect from Demange?

The arrival of the new director could mean a major change for ‘Blade’. Demange, born in France and raised in London, began his career in television before landing in the cinema with dramatic thrillers such as ‘White Boy Rick’. However, his participation in “Lovecraft Territory” was what characterized the series with a deep and dark tone, addressing social issues mixed with a large dose of fears.

Thus, while the details of the tape are still being kept under wraps, some sources indicate that this choice could be a change in tone of the title. With the arrival of Demange, Marvel Studios may be looking to ‘Blade’ to become a darker film, becoming one of the boldest from the production company.
