‘Indiana Jones 5’ continues to reveal its first official details via Empire magazine. After reviewing Harrison Ford as Indy and Mads Mikkelsen as the villain of this installment, it’s time to reveal who is behind Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The “Fleabag” star has become the most visible face of James Mangold’s film alongside Ford, having appeared in the company at this year’s D23 Expo.

Waller-Bridge becomes Helena, the goddaughter of Indiana Jones. Empire presents her first official picture of her alongside her godfather. The actress describes Helena as “A Mystery and a Wonder”Harrison Ford as “a pioneer in ethical accounting” and the director as “sneaky, charming, girl next door, a con artist”. At D23 they said it was “a femme fatale” which would remind certain characters of golden Hollywood. The inspiration behind the character, reveals James Mangold, is Barbara Stanwyck in the classic ‘Three Nights Eve’.

We recently learned that the film will take place in the 1960s and that New York will be one of the main settings for the action. Conceived as the archaeologist’s last adventurethe film will take advantage of digital rejuvenation technology to transform Harrison Ford into a much fresher 40-year-old Indy.

Mads Mikkelsen, for his part, becomes Voller, a mad scientist on the side of the Nazis. “who wants to correct certain mistakes of the past”, explains the actor who plays him. That desire will pit him against Indiana Jones, who is looking for the very thing he needs to make amends for the past. ‘Indiana Jones 5’ will be released in theaters on June 30, 2023 and we have yet to see the role of Antonio Banderas, among others.

The family grows (again)

The Jones family grows again, although this time it’s not as risky a gamble as they made in “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” The film released in 2008 featured Mutt, played by Shia LaBeouf, who is revealed to be the son of Indy and Marion (Karen Allen). Like pretty much every decision Steven Spielberg and George Lucas made in that installment, fans were none too happy with this attempt to find an heir to the whip and the hat and any rumors or attempts to make a movie with him were forgotten. .
