Anya Taylor-Joy Says Working on MAD MAX: FURIOSA Was a ‘Life Changing Experience’

Director George Miller has finished production Mad Max: Furious, and is now in the post-production process. there’s still a long way to go before we see this movie, but dammit… can’t wait to see what Miller and the creative team make of him!

Mad Max: Fury Road it was just beautifully insane, and I just want to see more of that high-octane insanity! I want to feel the heat of the explosions on my face and smell the burning fuel while watching the movie!

Furious will give us the origin story of the badass character previously played by Charlize Theron. In this film, the character is played by Anya Taylor-Joy, and in a recent interview, called producing Miller’s film a “life-changing” kind of experience. He told THR:

“It will take me two full years before the movie comes out to even start processing what I just left 12 days ago. [Furiosa] it was the most life changing experience for me, with such talented artists. I really felt like I’d grown so much, but yeah, it’s wild. It’s absolutely unique.”

Bring the wonder! In the film, “As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a large Biker Horde led by Warlord Dementus. Traversing the Wasteland they encounter the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. As the two Tyrants battle for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she musters the means to find her way home.”

Miller previously spoke about the film, saying, “I’ll tell you how it’s going when it’s done, but it’s off to a great start. All I can say about my excitement to make it is that it’s definitely exciting, because even though it’s certainly about that world of Road of Fury, it also has many of the differences we talked about. Again, it’s remarkably familiar. And probably the biggest difference is the time frame. Road of Fury it happened over the span of three days and two nights and this happened over the span of 15 years. So, it’s a saga.”

Speaking of Furiosa, Miller hinted that the backstory is one he would like to explore: “Yeah, she’s quite a compelling character so it would be great to tell her story. Her backstory is really interesting. We only allude to that in this movie because this movie is on the run; people don’t have much time for recreational chat. But you gather, you get the sense that she’s been through things. That’s what the movie is trying to do. You’re trying to put a lot of iceberg under the tip , I like to say. One of the things that’s really gratifying, people read the movie more than just the surface — the events of the movie, and they just glean a lot of stuff underneath it, which is very intentional… So, in many ways, audiences are learning a lot about Furiosa – or enough to intrigue. And she has an interesting history.”

The film is expected to hit theaters on May 24, 2024. A few set photos had previously surfaced offering a glimpse at the main characters. The film is also the protagonist Chris Hemsworth And Tom Burke.
