Warner Bros. has released the director’s first trailer Steven Soderbergh’S Magic Mike’s Last Dancethe new addition to the popular magical mike franchise. Channing Tatum he returns to reprise his role of famed stripper Mike Lane in the film, and is joined by Salma Hayek, Ayub Khan Din, Caitlin GerardAnd Gavin Raggiwith the newcomers Jemelia George, Juliet MotamedAnd Vicky Pepperdine.
“Magic” Mike Lane (Tatum) returns to the stage after a long hiatus following a failed deal that left him broke bartending gigs in Florida. For what he hopes is one last hurray, Mike goes to London with a wealthy socialite (Pinault) who lures him with an offer he can’t refuse… and an agenda of his own. With everything on the line, once Mike finds out what he’s really up to, will he—and the roster of hot new dancers he’s to train—be able to pull it off?
When previously talking about the film, Tatum and the writer Carolina Reid teased the story and revealed that the role of the female lead would be crucial to it. Carline said, “It’s really about a woman stuck in a horrible strip show like a Chippendales and then realizing, ‘What the hell am I doing here?’ And then Magic Mike comes down from the ceiling. He manages to go down the rabbit hole and asks: What do I really want?
Tatum added that the character is “really strong, almost stronger than Mike… we’ve never done a traditional love story, and this is not a traditional love story.”
Warner Bros. will debut with Soderbergh’s Magic Mike’s Last Dance in theaters February 10, 2023.
