More and more production companies are interested in making films that will ensure commercial and box office success, leaving the bolder titles to the more independent side of the industry. That’s why production companies like A24 have revolutionized the horror genre with horror movie that would never dare to be on televisionbut they can be seen in other ways.
And it is that, although it seems that television is a thing of the past, there are those who continue to enjoy the horror films that reach the televisions of millions of homes around the world, and for various reasons they cannot or do not want to contract a streaming service. Finally, it’s worth mentioning that each of the titles in the list is subject to availability in each region.
Lamb
At least for the more conservative chains, it is almost impossible to see one day ‘Lamb’ on TVbeing a horror film directed by Valdimar Jóhansson, with Noomi Rapace and Bjorn Hylnur Haraldsson, in which a small family who lives on a farm at the foot of a mountainous area, one day receives a being with the head of a goat and the body of a girl, who decide to adopt as a daughter.
Stoker
another one of those horror movies that will never get a chance on tv is ‘Stoker’ 2013, directed by Park Chan-Wook, and starring Nicole Kidman, Mia Wasikowksa and Matthew Goode. It is about a young woman who loses her father on her 18th birthday. After her tragic accident, her mother takes care of her when her uncle comes to her house which makes you uncomfortable. Pearl
Ti West is one of those directors who has definitely been banned from different TV networks or channels where they prefer to avoid controversy. ‘Pearl’ is her most recent horror film of 2022, in which Mia Goth reprises her role seen in ‘X’, a young woman with family problems who also aspires to be a big-name actress in Hollywood.
Terrifying 2
If the first part of Damien Leone’s horror film is nearly impossible to find on streaming platforms right now, ‘Terrifier 2’ will almost certainly never hit television. And not because it technically can’t, but because the brutality of some of its most violent moments could not be accepted by any television network in the entire world.
