Ash Ketchum and Pikachu have been on a journey for the past 25 years. That journey was to become the best Pokémon trainer ever. In the latest episode of Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series, this result was made official. Ash has repeatedly lost in various tournaments, but has recently seen some victories and is now the new Monarch of the Pokémon World Coronation Series by defeating the Leon of the Galar region. His winning team consists of Pikachu, Lucario, Dragonite, Gengar, Sirfetch’d and Dracovish.
Speaking of this important occasion, Taito Okura from The Pokémon Company International shared:
Ash Ketchum’s determination and perseverance in achieving his goal of becoming the best Pokémon Trainer in the world over the course of 25 seasons represents the best of what it means to be a Trainer. We look forward to celebrating this moment with Pokémon fans when the new season of “Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series” and this adventure-defining episode airs worldwide in the next year. This is one season fans won’t want to miss!
US fans can watch Pokémon Ultimate Journeys: The Series on Netflix. The episode is not currently available, but keep an eye out for the availability of the new episode. Are you excited to hear that Ash has finally made it? Could this signal the passing of the baton to a new protagonist? Probably not, but this sounds like a good game changer should the team decide to go for it. Also, a fan on Twitter shared the entire battle. You can watch it under the official images.
