Meredith bites the bullets and sends the Gray Sloan abandonment email. Everyone is shocked by the news, but this won’t be a long process. Maggie and Amelia are helping Meredith pack.
As for Meredith’s future with Nick, that’s uncertain. She hasn’t discussed the move with Nick yet, but she plans Whipple surgery with him.

Lucas spills the beans on his family
A storm hitting Seattle threatens the opening of the women’s clinic. Accreditation has also not arrived, so opening is late.
Amelia confronts Lucas for telling everyone they are related. Lucas admits that Simone knows the truth, but it becomes clear that Blue and Mika still don’t know as they enter the elevator. Amelia has had enough. She forces Lucas to clear the air.
Lucas tells the interns and Nick that Amelia’s sister is his mother. “I’m a shepherd,” he says. In the midst of this revelation, the interns are understandably nervous after Meredith’s email. “This program is made up of more than one person. You are the show, “Nick tells them, dispelling their fears.
As he prepares for Whipple, Nick tells Lucas he’s “good enough” to make a name for himself. Richard goes to Nick to ask if he too should wait for his resignation. Nick honestly has no idea what’s going on with Meredith. Richard just wants to be prepared in every way.
Meredith and Nick discuss their move.
Meredith and Nick finally talk about the move before the operation. Not sure how to deal with this because you don’t mean the wrong thing. “I want to fight for us. I want to prove it, “Meredith says. Nick is shocked that she accepted this change without even discussing it with him.” I support it because there is no other answer, “she says.

Winston joins Maggie to help tidy up Meredith’s house. He tells her that he is thinking of getting a vascular surgery bag. Maggie accuses Winston of switching majors to get away from him. Winston swears it’s not that. He believes that if they continue to work together, they won’t make it.
Winston is willing to give up cardio for their relationship. “This is the opposite of what I want,” says Maggie. For Winston, it’s simple. “You’re my girlfriend, Maggie,” says Winston. Maggie fully admits that she doesn’t respect him for that. Suddenly, the conversation is interrupted when lightning strikes the house.
When Lucas seems to be losing space, Meredith shoots him out of Whipple’s operating room. Simone appears to him. Richard and Bailey are watching from the gallery and she is trying to get her to take over as head of surgery. “Nobody can handle this place like you,” she says. Bailey’s treatment is only in the clinic.
Meredith faces another tragedy
Bailey gets a call from Ben about what’s going on at Meredith’s house. Richard rushes to the operating room to talk to Meredith. There is a fire in Meredith’s house and no one can reach Winston and Maggie.
Meredith goes home right away. Everyone is safe, but the fire continues to burn. Meredith and the children are forced to watch as firefighters try to save their home. Maggie reveals that she managed to save Meredith and Derek’s beloved Post-it.

After a complex surgery, Mika is stunned by Teddy. “You’re a tough top surgeon and I want to be you when I grow up,” says Mike. After hearing this praise, Owen tells Teddy that he should run for head of surgery.
Blue reveals to Jules that she hasn’t entered any medical school in the United States. She was an A student in high school, but her grades dropped in college when her mother fell ill and later died.
Lucas is frustrated after being expelled from Meredith’s surgery. Simone tries to calm their spirits. He yells at her in anger and she tells him that she should thank him for saving him. They share a passionate kiss, but Simone cuts him off. “I can’t,” she says. When he asks why, she replies: “Because I can’t.”
After the storm, Bailey’s clinic can officially open. She named the clinic in honor of her mother, Elena Bailey, the woman who helped make Bailey the woman she is today.
