THE CONJURING The spinoff film THE CROOKED MAN was scrapped

The Summoning spin-off film The crooked man does not go further. The terrifying character first appeared in The evocation 2 in 2016, and in 2017 the franchise director was announced James Wan he would be making the movie. You previously spoke about the film, saying:

“WWith The Crooked Man, I’d like to push it further down into a darker, more outlandish fairytale subgenre. I like the idea that, within the Conjuring universe, each of our little films has its own flavor, so they don’t seem to be the same films. “

Things have been pretty quiet about the project ever since, until this week, when Wan himself shared a photo of him with The Crooked Man and made the announcement on social media, saying:

“Back to my tall friend, the Crooked Man played by the Incredible [Javier Botet]. Javier’s movement was almost supernatural, some people knocked the character out because he was in CGI, “shared Wan in an Instagram post.” I filmed him in slow motion and playing backwards, all tricks of the old woman’s camera. school. And no, unfortunately the spin-off movie with this character isn’t happening. Out of my control. But maybe one day “.

It’s a shame this creepy character doesn’t get his own movie, but as Wan said, “Maybe someday.” Would you still like to see this movie happen?
