The story is set 10,000 years before Paul Atreides’ existence and follows the Harkonnen sisters as they fight the forces that threaten the future of humanity and found the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit. Focusing a series around that powerful order of women seemed not only relevant and inspiring, but also a dynamic setting for the television series.”

The series was created by Diane Ademu-John (The Haunting of Bly Manor, The OriginalsAnd the Vampire Diaries), which doubles as a showrunner. Alison Schapker is co-showrunner and executive producer. Johan Renck (Chernobyl) will direct the first episode and executive produce. Denis Villeneuve is producing the series.
