Ultimately, it is a story of a young woman learning to live on her own terms.
Now You See Me 2
It is no secret that ‘Now You See Me 2’ is impressive at a certain level. Despite parts of it being pretty ordinary, it is one of the best games in its genre. There is a lot of magic in both films, and it is used well and makes for a very entertaining experience. A tech expert forces the Four Horsemen to pull off a dangerous and seemingly impossible heist in Macau, China in Now You See Me 2. There are quite a few interesting twists and turns throughout the story that keep you engaged. Once the film is over, and you analyze the plot points, you realize that the majority of the plot points are convoluted and implausible. Screenwriter Ed Solomon put little thought into the script, which is a shame. It would have been an amazing cinematic experience if the team behind had taken more time to develop a stronger, more well-constructed plot.
Willow
While Ron Howard’s Willow is not based on Buffy the Vampire Slayer Wiccan, it does have its share of charms. Warwick Davis plays Willow, a farmer whose task is to babysit a child that will defeat the evil Queen Bavmorda in the fantasy film. Val Kilmer plays the swordsman Madmartigan, who aids Willow with his sorcery skills on his journey. Since this is a fantasy film, Willow learns that good triumphs over evil by defeating Bavmorda. Despite its poor reception at the time, the film has developed cult status since then. James Horner’s score and ILM’s effects make for a fantasy match made in heaven.
The Witch
Robert Eggers’ 2015 directorial debut, The Witch, is hailed as a modern-day classic by horror fans for its dark take on witchcraft and magic. Based on a fanatically religious seventeenth-century family’s viewpoint, magic is portrayed as a death omen in The Witch.It appears that many of the film’s occult occurrences were actually real, but the final segment makes it clear that they were the products of religious zealotry. Though it’s a far cry from the cozy depictions of magic found in most films, it’s still a movie that shouldn’t be missed.
Kiki’s Delivery Service
This fourth feature film from Studio Ghibli follows young witch Kiki on her rite-of-passage journey. After arriving in town, she starts a flying service for a bakery. In this film, fantastical themes are woven into the fabric of metropolitan life, making them seem real. This is a great movie for people of all ages due to its likable cast, wholesome story, and mature content. The lonely middle ground between childhood and independence is beautifully captured by Hayao Miyazaki in Kiki’s quest for a place in the world.
