The tragic story of ‘The Last of Us’

It all begins on a tragic day when Joel and his daughter experience the beginning of the apocalypse, when a virus called Cordyceps Unilateralis, born from spores, turns people into zombie-like things. Despite humanity’s efforts to survive, the world has remained almost desolate and, after a few years, now the few survivors are trying to get their lives back.

That’s when Joel meets Tess and they start smuggling missions to whomever comes at their price. Merlene, leader of a paramilitary group called Las Luciérnagas, introduces them to Ellie, a 14-year-old girl to be brought to a point, as part of an assignment. The mission is to take the child to Boston, but the travel problems are not easy to overcome.

That said, that’s all you need to know about “The Last of Us” if you haven’t played the Naughty Dog video game and Playstation. So, if you don’t want to be spoiled until the January 15th release, you’d better wait and then play both sides of the Joel and Ellie story.
