Tom Felton on the moment he landed the role of Draco Malfoy in HARRY POTTER, at the expense of Emma Watson

Tom Felton is one of the cast members of Harry Potter franchise that was in every movie from the start, playing the key role of bully and bad boy Draco Malfoy. Luckily for the actor, the character did well in the end, and also what earned him points with fans was the fact that Tom Felton looks like a very charming guy. He ended up bonding with his co-stars, in particular Emma Watsonwho played Hermione Granger in the franchise, but actually got off to a rough start.

In a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on his YouTube show, Felton talked about getting the role of Draco Malfoy and actually getting into the role of director, at the expense of poor Emma Watson. Felton explained:

“Chris Columbus did this trick, or tried this trick, where there are like 20 kids together and he was like, ‘OK, guys, I’ll leave you for a second, and let’s go talk here.’ And the producers and whatnot would end up in a corner and the other guy still had the mic in his hand. As you know, the huge mic boom overhead, so I knew exactly what was going on. And this little girl with hair. combed came up to me and said ‘What is that?’ I looked at her very arrogantly and said, “It’s a microphone, idiot, what do you think it is?” I’m pretty sure they heard it, and I’m pretty sure it helped me get the role of Draco Malfoy. Also, it turns out I saw that girl two months later and her name is Emma Watson, so we didn’t get off to a good start. “

Luckily we all know it turned out great, and Emma realized it was all about getting the role, I’m sure. Each cast member was so perfect for their role. It’s fun to look back and hear all the details they remember from behind the scenes.
