Now that everyone is talking about “Terrifier 2” as the most viral horror film of the moment, “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” is back with more news about its upcoming release. And is that, after several months of speculation, the release date in theaters has finally been revealed, and that it will arrive exclusively in Mexico.

According to information from The Hollywood Reporter, ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ opens on February 15, 2023, in theaters in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and Mexico. The horror film is directed by Rhys Frake Waterfield and picks up the characters created by AA Milne, who belonged to Disney but lost the rights earlier this year.

It is worth mentioning that this release will only last one day, so it will only be February 15th when you can enjoy the horror movie about the characters of the 100 acre forest. Also, Cinemax will be premiered ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ in Mexico exclusively in its cinemas, while Fathom Events will do the same in the United States and Cineplex in Canada.

At the moment, these are the only confirmed territories, but THR mentions them are planning more countries to bring the Winnie the Pooh horror film in cinemas. Some interested are American Film Market, which may extend its screenings to some territories as well, so we’ll have to be careful if they expand its launch and there are more days to see it.

“Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” is getting a sequel

Given the hype it has caused on social networks and the success of its first trailer, the director of the film Frake Waterfield says that he is already working on the sequel to “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey”. He hasn’t given more details about it, but he may show other characters in the forest, who are not appearing due to rights issues with Disney.

In addition to the sequel to “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey”, Waterfield is also preparing another terrifying version of one of the most popular children’s stories, such as Peter Pan with “Neverland Nightmare”. Which joins other adaptations of familiar characters that will be taken to a world of horror, such as Heidi and the mythology of Thor of Norse.

The story of ‘Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey’ follows Pooh and Piglet, after Christopher Robin abandoned them when he entered college: “So they went back to their animal roots. They are no longer domesticated: they are like a bear and a ferocious pig that wants to go around looking for prey, “said Waterfield.
