Some interesting news has just arrived for you all Friday 13 fan! Peacock has given a direct order to the series for a prequel series for the titled horror franchise Crystal lake. It will be written and developed by Bryan Fuller (Hannibal, dead like me, Star Trek; Discovery), who will also serve as showrunner and executive producer.
No plot details have been revealed, but it is described as an “expanded prequel”. I assume it will also focus on Jason Voorhees’ mother, Pamela
Pamela was a pregnant young bride who lived in a trailer in Cadiz, Ohio, with her abusive husband Elias Voorhees. She pamela she believed she could actually hear the thoughts of her unborn child instructing her to commit acts of violence. After suffering a long series of beatings perpetuated by her husband, Pamela listened to her voice inside her telling her to “kill”.
This definitely sounds like an interesting and dark series, and it could be very different from anything we’ve seen before in the franchise, which would be refreshing.

Fuller added: “I discovered ‘Friday the 13th’ in the pages of Famous Monsters magazine when I was 10 and have been thinking about this story ever since. When it comes to horror, A24 raises the bar and pushes the envelope and are thrilled to explore Crystal Lake campground under their banner. And Susan Rovner is simply the best at what she does. It is a pleasure and an honor to work with her again ”.
In the original film, Jason is a child who drowns in Camp Crystal Lake. His death leads her mother Pamela to seek revenge against the counselors she blamed for the death of her son.
