There is no doubt that the director James Gunn’S Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 it will be a bittersweet end for the fans. This was the experience the cast had during filming, and in a recent interview with EW, Zoe Saldanawho plays Gamora, shared what it was like for her to shoot the film.
First he explains that it started with bitterness, but added that it ended up being a sweet start. Here’s what she said:
“[Filming] started bitter in the beginning because obviously you are anticipating the end, but I’m so happy that once again I got to work with great people. I have had an evolution that I have witnessed of myself, but also of my director and my cast. I just felt very blessed and grateful. It was a very sweet start, I must say.
The last time we saw Gamora she was inside Avengers: End of the game, who saw her fight alongside Captain Marvel, Wasp, Valkarie, Pepper Potts, Wanda, Mantis and Shuri as they teamed up to protect the Nano Gauntlet. Saldana talked about her experience filming that scene saying:
“Of course, we knew it was going to be special and we felt good every time the Russos said ‘Action!’ But what I can remember – and these are the nuggets of life that make me feel so human and keep me grounded – is that we were just complaining about how uncomfortable our costumes, our makeup, our wigs were, how cold the set was, how much we didn’t want to be there, how much we wanted to be there. So we were just girls, you know? Going together and acting tough [through that] it was also very special ”.
The Gamora that now exists in the MCU is not the same one that Peter Quill had a relationship with. That Gamroa is dead, and this Gamora is from the past and she has no idea who Peter Quill is, which is super hard for Peter! It will be really interesting to see how that aspect of the story turns out.
I know a lot of fans want to see something that works with each other, but personally, I don’t see that happening. This version of Gamora is such a different person and you can’t force that relationship to work. It will be a shame to see, but I just think it will be reality.
What do you think? You think this version of Gamora and Star-Lord will eventually meet Guardians Vol. 3?
