DC fans are incredibly excited Henry Cavill return to the role of Superman after all these years of waiting and hope. Well, the time has come and after appearing Black AdamCavill will act in a Man of Steel sequel for Warner Bros. and DC Studios.
Cavill is thrilled to be back and previously thanked the fans for their support and patience. He also promised that he “will be rewarded”. Cavill recently spoke publicly for the first time about his return to Superman during a live recording of the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
During the interview the actor shared his excitement about returning to the role and joked that the next story they will tell will feature a “joyful Superman”, and that’s something I’m incredibly excited to see. He said:
“The character means a lot to me. It’s been five years now. I have never lost hope. It’s amazing to be here now talking about it again. There is such a bright future ahead of the character. I am so excited to tell a story with an extremely joyful Superman ”.
Cavill went on to reveal that he got the call to appear Black Adam while he was shooting his fantasy series on Netflix The sorcerer. He also explained that he needed to get clearance from the production team to take a break from filming. It’s funny because his return to Superman was so top secret that he wasn’t allowed to tell them why he needed a break.
“I went to Warner Bros.” study in the UK and is back in the suit. It was a very powerful moment for me. I wasn’t sure how I would feel … if it was going to be something very emotionally connective because I wore the ‘Man of Steel’ suit again. I chose the one in particular because of the nostalgia attached to the dress. It was important for me to be there and enjoy that moment. This is one of the best moments of my career. It’s great to have the opportunity to wear it again. “
Cavill added that he never gave up hope of returning, saying, “I told myself I’ll let it rest and simmer in the background. I never lost hope, that was the key to me. ”Asked about the state of her new Man of Steel film and if there are writers and directors surrounding the project, Cavill replied, “You know I can’t tell you.”
It will be great to see Cavill as Superman again and I am thrilled to see this joyful version of the character.
