Hugh Jackman, Zen McGrath and Laura Dern star in the harrowing trailer for THE SON

A new trailer and poster have been released for the thrilling family drama, Sonhero Hugh Jackman, Laura Dern, Vanessa Kirby, Zen McGrathAnd Hugh Quarshiewith Anthony Hopkins. The film is directed by Florian Zellerhis second feature film after making The father, with Anthony Hopkins. Zeller co-wrote the script with Christopher Hamptonand is based on Zeller’s original work.

Here is the synopsis:

A drama that follows a family as it struggles to reunite after falling apart. The Son centers on Peter, whose busy life with his newborn and new partner Beth is turned upside down when his ex-wife Kate appears with their son Nicholas, who is now a teenager. The young man has been absent from school for months and is upset, distant and angry. Peter struggles to take care of Nicholas as he would have liked his father to take care of him as he juggles his job, his and Beth’s new son, and the offer of his dream location in Washington. However, as he seeks the past to correct his mistakes, he loses sight of how to hold on to Nicholas in the present.

This was initially premiered at the 2022 Venice Film Festival this month. The film will be released in selected American theaters starting November 11. It looks like it’s going to be a heartbreaking story to watch, but with such a great cast. Watch the trailer and poster below.
