Ray Romano made his directorial debut with an upcoming film entitled Somewhere in Queensand has just been picked up by Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions.
In the film, “Romano plays Leo Russo, a father who goes out of his way to secure a basketball scholarship for his high school son.” Romano said in a note:
“I am so excited to know that Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions will bring this film to theaters around the world. I have lived with every aspect of this production for years, as a director, co-writer, actor and producer. It’s such a personal story to me and it’s inspiring to see these two companies come forward because they believe in the film as much as I do. “
Eda Kowan, Lionsgate’s executive vice president of acquisitions and co-productions added, “Ray Romano has made an outstanding directorial debut, creating a vibrant family tapestry that is instantly recognizable and heartfelt. We are very proud to be distributing the film with our Roadside partners and we feel that he will really connect with the audience. “

The film will be released in theaters by Roadside Attractions in 2023.
