Dwayne Johnson opens up about the making of the BLACK ADAM end credits scene

One of the coolest parts of DC Black Adam was the reintroduction of Henry Cavillis Superman. We all knew he was coming, but he was so beautiful to see. The fact that we’re finally going to see a new Superman story with Cavill at the wheel is great!

We can all thank Johnson for that. He spent six years trying to get that deal done, and it took a change in the Warner Bros. regime for the deal to actually get through. For some reason, the WB executives were determined not to bring Cavill back as Superman, which is just crazy to me!

While speaking with Collider, Johnson explained how to bring Cavill aboard as Man of Steel all came together. He said:

“We are good friends. Cavill]is very close friends with my business partner, Dany Garcia, who has worked closely to support his career over the years as a manager … We have all known each other for a long time, over 10 years.

“When I say there is a new era in the DC universe, what I mean by that is to listen to the fans and pay them a lot of attention. And we won’t always be able to do whatever they want, but we will listen. [Cavill’s return] it’s a reflection not only of listening to the fans, but also of a guy who embodies Superman. “

Johnson went on to confirm that he presented his idea for Cavill’s return directly to the new regime at Warner Bros. Discovery, saying:

“I’ve gotten to a point where, collectively, I mean myself, Dany and Hiram [Garcia], we said, ‘This is how the movie should end. And I’ll give you one further, test it, and if it doesn’t work, we’ll never talk about it again. Try it. We shot it, to their credit, the new leadership … They saw it and said: ‘We don’t even have to test it.’ “

But they ended up testing it, and that’s how Superman’s look leaked online! Fans who failed to keep the great news to themselves. I understand! Especially those influencers out there looking for large traffic numbers.

In a separate interview with CinemaBlend, producer Hiram Garcia added that “[Cavill] we wanted to come back, we wanted him to come back and we wanted to make sure we were able to establish that [his] the character exists in the same universe as Black Adam. We have great ambitions for the things we would like to do. However, all of these elements are still in the works, so I am unable to provide exact updates. But just know that we are fighting for this ”.

It will be exciting and fun to see how this all develops over the next few years.
