The creators of “Dark” come up with a series that promises as much as the previous one: “1899”. Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese leave Winden behind and now embark a terrifying journey across the Atlantic waters.
Kerberos passengers, a steamboat full of immigrants traveling from London to New York in search of a new life, will be involved in a nightmare when they come across another migrant ship adrift on the open sea. ‘1899’ is will premiere on November 17 on Netflix.

“Dark” was the first German-language series on Netflix and brought stars like Louis Hofmann to the international stage. In this second series, bo Obar and Friese opt for a multilingual cast. In the trailer we can hear German, English, Danish and Spanish. This allows us to recognize Miguel Bernardeau (“Elite”) among many other European stars who are echoing internationally, such as the Danish Lucas Lyngaard Tønnesen (“Borgen”) or the Polish Maciej Musial (“The Witcher”). Lovers of the first series, the creators, might also recognize Andreas Pietschmann as Captain Eyk Larsen.
“1899” will be premiered November 17 on Netflix.
