‘Cocaine Bear’ is titled ‘Oso vicioso’ in Spain and will arrive in 2023 with its incredible true story

The film features the posthumous appearance of Ray Liotta, the ‘One of Ours’ actor who passed away last May. Joining him will be Keri Russell, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Alden Ehrenreich, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Kristofer Hivju, Christian Convery, Brooklynn Prince and Margo Martindale, among others.

‘Oso Vicious’ is the title chosen by Universal Pictures to replace ‘Cocaine Bear’, the original name of the film. As expected, the networks filled with memes after hearing the news coming to baptize the animal as “Pablo Escobear”, referring to the historic Colombian drug trafficker. However, what’s really striking is that the title appears to be taken from a Twitter meme, which may well be true, as some users have come to predict the title in 2021.

What really happened?

According to Medium.com, the events on which the story is based occurred in 1985. Andrew C. Thornton II, a former US police officer and lawyer, was sailing in the Chattahoochee National Forest when he was forced to throw a bag of cocaine out the window of his plane to lose weight, then jump off the plane. This substance ended up in the hands of the bear, who actually died a few hours later from an overdose and was found dead surrounded by several packs of drugs.. By that time, the agent had become the lead member of a notorious drug smuggling ring in Kentucky.

This story is not fully confirmed, as the aforementioned drug dealer lost his life on the spot, in what appears to have been a failed attempt to open the parachute during his jump.. His body was found with a parachute attached in the courtyard of a residence in Knoxville, Tennessee. His personal effects included a bulletproof vest, a pair of knives, $ 4,500 in cash, ropes, food, two guns, night vision goggles, Gucci loafers, and a backpack with $ 15 million worth of cocaine.

The bear’s carcass was dissected after the autopsy and transferred to the Kentucky Fun Mall in Lexington for display.. It can still be visited there today and is considered a tourist attraction in the area.
