
Rian Johnson really impressed fans and viewers when he released his 2019 murder mystery family drama Knives out. We all look forward to the second episode, Glass onion: a mystery chases away, which will arrive in limited theaters next month and Netflix the week of Christmas. When the franchise moved to Netflix, two films were ordered and Johnson is ready to make more.
In a recent interview with Variety Awards Circuit Podcast, the director was asked how many Knives out film that he has within himself. He replied:
“If any of these can truly be what Agatha Christie did, if they can not only be in a whole new location and a new cast, but also experience something exciting, I will continue to do so as long as Daniel [Craig] and I’m having fun. I will continue to do them as long as they let me. “
Johnson was then asked if he intended to make his proposal Star Wars trilogy. He did Star Wars: The Last Jedi in 2017 with mixed reviews and some fans wondered if he would do better in a trilogy of his own. Johnson commented on it, saying:
“I talked to Kathy [Kathleen Kennedy] we talk about it and we are still talking about it. I had such an amazing experience making “The Last Jedi”. It’s all a matter of programming. For me, putting this on [‘Glass Onion’] go out and do the next of these … the answer is I don’t know.
To the direct question if we will definitely see Rian Johnson Star Wars trilogy in the future, he replies: “God I hope so.”
