Netflix released the first trailer for The crown The fifth season, set in the 1990s, focuses on the royal family trying to prove their relevance in the modern era. The story will also follow the drama surrounding Princess Diana (Elizabeth Debicki), her relationship with Prince Charles (Domenico West), and Queen Elizabeth II (Imelda Staunton).
This intense story of Princess Diana’s rise to fame and tragic death comes in the wake of Queen Elizabeth II’s death, and with that comes the controversy. As you might expect, the royal family isn’t happy with the series, but audiences seem to love it. With most viewers going through the 90s, this fifth season is expected to be a huge hit for Netflix.
Now, Netflix has released a statement about Diana’s tragic death in the upcoming series saying, “The exact moment of the crash impact will not be shown.” Lady Judi Dench released a public statement criticizing the show, stating:
“While many will recognize The Crown for the brilliant yet fictionalized account of events it is, I fear that a significant number of viewers, particularly overseas, may consider its side of the story to be completely true. Given some of the seemingly painful hints it contains. in the new series – which King Charles plotted for his mother to abdicate, for example, or once suggested that his mother’s parenting was so deficient that he might deserve a prison sentence – this is both cruelly unfair to individuals and harmful to the institution you represent. “
The crown Season 5 is also the protagonist Jonathan Price (game of Thrones) assuming the role of Prince Philip e Lesley Manville (Maleficent: Mistress of Evil) noting Princess Margaret.
