BLACK ADAM Producer Says Fighting Superman Is Not A Unique Storyline, But A New “Long Form Of Storytelling”

Dwayne Johnson he wasn’t shy about advertising his latest film, Black Adam. The action star has been trying to make this film for years and couldn’t be more thrilled that it’s finally come to fruition. One aspect of the story that Johnson was not afraid of is his hope of reintroducing Henry Cavill as Superman so that Black Adam can face him.

Dwayne Johnson told CinemaBlend earlier this month that the “main purpose” of bringing Black Adam to the big screen in his standalone film is that he can someday make a Black Adam vs. Superman movie. While we’re not sure this reintroduction will happen in this film, fans assume we’ll see at least one post-credits scene with Cavill’s Man of Steel.

Regardless of when it all ends, the producer of the film Hiram Garcia recently explained to CinemaBlend that a fight between Superman and Black Adam will not be defined only by a “one-off” film. “It was never a fight or a fight,” said Garcia, who has been Dwayne Johnson’s longtime partner in the production of films such as Jumanji, Hobbs & Shaw, and more. He continued by adding:

“No, it is much more. We really want to create a long form of storytelling and show that these two characters exist in the same universe and will often have to deal with each other, on the same side or opposite sides. Hopefully they will collide at some point, but this is not just a “one fight” situation. It was never our dream. This does not reward the fans. Fans want to experience a journey between these guys knowing that these guys exist in the same universe. “
