XYZ Films has released a new trailer for a crazy-looking cosmic sci-fi thriller titled Something in the dirt. The film comes from scriptwriter and directors Justin Benson And Aaron Moorhead (Knight of the Moon, Resolution, Spring, V / H / S: viral, the infinite, synchronic), and also star in the film.
The story follows a couple of neighbors who witness some sort of supernatural event in one of their apartments. At first they are scared, but they realize that documenting this phenomenon could give them the life they have always dreamed of. It involves gateways to other dimensions.
The film is described by the filmmakers as “a kind of love letter to Los Angeles. And the film is a mystery, so we don’t want to give too much away. But … generally the movie is about these two new neighbors – one of them just moved into an apartment … something happens that could be paranormal or otherworldly. And they decide to explore it together “.
They added: “It’s a reaction to: ‘What if I did The X-Files today? How would you do it? ‘”They also explain that the film is about the” moral duties of a science fiction writer today. “
The synopsis reads: “Levi took over a never-before-seen lease-out apartment in the Hollywood Hills to crash while dealing with outstanding issues for his exodus from Los Angeles. He quickly forms a relationship with his new neighbor John, swapping stories like old friends under the bright, smoke-filled skies of the city. One day, Levi and John witness something impossible in one of their apartments. Terrified at first, they soon realize that this could change their lives and give them purpose. With dollar signs in their eyes, these two random dudes will try to prove the supernatural.
XYZ Films will be released Something in the dirt in cinemas on November 4, 2022.
