‘Halloween: The End’ cannot with ‘The crooked lines of God’ at the Spanish box office

The Spanish box office drops to 3.36 million euros in total admissions and 492,863 admissions in the last weekend, according to data from Comscore. This is a very slight decrease compared to the previous weekend, even if in that case we were coming out of a Film Festival, so the decrease was expected. With the conclusion of the ‘Halloween’ saga and a critically acclaimed Spanish film as big news, perhaps something more was expected.. Also of both titles.

‘Halloween: The End’ cannot with ‘The crooked lines of God’ at the Spanish box office

‘God’s Crooked Lines’ finally managed to top the chart in its second week. Having come out in the middle of the Film Festival, it made sense for audiences to split between the special price day and the rest. Wear on “Smile” was good and only dropped 17% from its first week. It adds € 683,783 to a total of € 2.47 million, with an average per cinema of € 1,804. In just two weeks it surpassed “Alcarràs” and became the second highest-grossing Spanish film of the yeareven if getting to “Father there is only one 3” and its 15.5 million euros sound practically impossible.

‘Halloween: The End’ has to be content with making its debut in second place with € 643,402 and an average of € 1,980 per cinema, so ‘Los renglones’ beat it by a minimum. Supposing, yes, an increase over the ‘Halloween Kills’ premiere, which earned € 547,451 last year. Of the new trilogy, the queen is still the “night of Halloween” with its 1.1 million euros in a pre-pandemic 2018. As for horror, the best premiere of the year continues to be for ‘Black Phone’ (642,405 euros).

‘Smile’ drops to third place with 30% less collection than the previous week. It adds € 600,793 to a total of € 3.59 million, which is why it exceeds the total of ‘Black Phones’ and becomes the highest-grossing horror film of the year.

“Tadeo Jones 3: The Emerald Table” continues to stay on top of the billboard, fourth in its eighth week, with 290,269 euros, only 25% less than the previous week. Its total is € 10.74 million, surpassing “Top Gun: Maverick”.

‘On the margins’ closes the top 5 with € 164,846, 35% less than the previous weekend, something relatively positive given the hegemony of ‘Los renglones torcidos de Dios’ in Spanish cinema. Its total is 643,255 euros. Speaking of national cinema, ‘Cerdita’ did not perform particularly well at the box office despite receiving applause at many festivals and winning directors of Edgar Wright’s stature. The film premiered in 255 screens and raised only 135,329 euros, taking eighth place. Further down, but with far fewer copies, we find ‘Wild Sunflowers’, which grossed € 135,329 in its first weekend.

Finally, ‘Black Adam’

The week is interesting with Dwayne Johnson finally hitting theaters as “Black Adam”. The actor waited over a decade to don the DC anti-hero costume, and vowed that with his film a new era in the franchise begins. Will the audience accompany you? It has no competition of that caliber, but ‘Lilo, the crocodile my friend’, ‘Watch the way they run’, ‘The skin of the drum’, ‘One year, one night’, ‘Unicorn Wars’ and the new The Adventure of Shinnosuke Nohara, “Shin-Chan and the Mystery of Tenkasu Academy”.
