“The Little Mermaid” launches its beautiful first poster with a tribute to the original classic posters

That of “The Little Mermaid” was the most discussed teaser of all those launched at the recent Comic-Con in San Diego and one of the most viewed within the Disney live-action. The remake of the 1989 classic is raising huge expectations, and each new look is experienced with enthusiasm (and debate) on the internet. After that first short preview where we were finally able to see Halle Bailey’s Ariel in motion, Disney has unveiled the first poster for the film. And it is a beauty.

“The Little Mermaid” launches its beautiful first poster with a tribute to the original classic posters

Bailey herself shared the poster their networks with the following message: “There are no words to describe how tremendously honored I am to play the siren of my dreams., Ariel in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. Come with me under the sea, in the halls on May 26, 2023 “. In the poster we can see Ariel at the bottom of the sea, perched on a rock while she looks longingly towards the surface, from where a ray of light illuminates her.

This design is a direct homage to the first posters of the original animated classic, where we also saw the famous red-haired mermaid, in one, on a rock looking up, and in another, heading towards the surface bathed in light from the outside. This follows the trend of previous Disney live-action teaser posters, which also paid homage to their predecessors, such as “Aladdin” or “The Lion King”.
