The dark and somber daughter of the Adams family, Wednesday, returns to the screen with a new series for Netflix. The girl is one of the most peculiar characters of this strange family, who won a wave of fans when she was played by Christina Ricci in the 90s, and now she will take her place. Jane Ortegafrom the hand of director Tim Burton.
Now only Netflix release the latest trailer of this series. This begins by showing us the Nevermore Academy, an institution for problem children, where Wednesday ends up being interned by his family and where it is assumed to be a place where young people will learn together no matter who or what they are. At the same time showing us a couple of faceless boys and a group who apparently are werewolf boys.
At the same time we are shown a little more about Wednesday’s attitude and thoughts, letting us know from her own voice that it’s not that it bothers her that people are afraid of her, but rather that she loves him. The sequence is combined with the girl practicing fencing and attacking her other classmates who apparently wanted to annoy her.
The trailer for “Wednesday” shows us a story full of secrets and mystery
On the other hand, the trailer shows us that the plot of the series will revolve around a series of mysteries around the school, which make it suspicious of what this institution hides. Secret societies, hidden libraries and even a murderous monster. And not only that, but it presents another character equally loved by the public, uncle Luca.
Played by the actor and musician, Fred Armisen, famous for his participation on Saturday Night Live, comes this new uncle Lucas, who in the 90s was played by Christopher Lloyd. The character had been a mystery, not knowing who would be in charge of embodying him, it was even rumored that he could have been Johnny Depp.
Uncle Lucas makes his appearance driving a motorcycle painted in Dalmatian spots, taking Wednesday with him and mentioning, in his extravagant accent, his love of undercover travel. The last part of the trailer shows us how Wednesday is determined to unearth the secrets and mysteries that Nevermor Academy hides.
This suggests that we will see a story full of action and mystery, and which probably deviates from the comic tone of the previous episodes. The trailer ends with a series of images, including Wednesdays in the school’s hidden corridors, a little more blood, a mysterious funeral and a cameo that shocked us all, Cristina Ricci movie to end this trailer.
Without a doubt, this new adaptation of the Adams family in the series ‘Wednesday’ directed by the always strange Tim Burton, will be something never seen before and that will give a freshen up to the franchise, after the past films, animations and television series. just as fun. The series will debut later November 23 exclusively on Netflix.
